Period1. Welcome to English, Listening

      To grasp how to talk about There be…” structure, meanwhile grasp the rules of the plural forms of countable nouns.

 VI. Teaching steps

Step1. Show the aims

1.   Show some aims on the screen, let students know what they will grasp in the lesson.

(1) To learn some new words

(2) To talk about some schools

(3) To grasp the plural forms of countable nouns

(4) To love our school and study harder than before

2.   Tell students that the second period and the third points are the main parts in the lesson.

 Step2.Listening

1.   Learn some new words. Students read by themselves loudly.

2.   Tell students some key points.

 Step3. Showing

1.   show a photo of our campus and ask some questions about it.

2.   Let students make sentences with There is/are…”

 Step4.Listening and practising

1.   Ask students some questions about their classroom or their school using Is/Are there?structures.

2.   Listen to the tape of Listening Part. Let students finish this part quickly.

3.   Ask students to practise Is/Are there?structures.

4.   Listen to the tape of Part A. Let students answer some questions, then practise the conversation with their partners. Then act it out.

 Step5. Exercises

      Give some exercises to do in class. Then ask some of them to correct.

Step6. Countable nouns

1.   Listen to the tape of Part B.

2.   Let students say the rules of plural forms countable nouns. Then show the rules on the screen.

3.   Let students make How many +pl. are there? sentences with plural forms. Then ask some of them to say out. 

Step7. Exercises

       Hand out a piece of paper to each student. Let them finish the paper in class. Then ask some of them to correct.

1.   Listen to the tape at home and recite the text.
